JOB OVERVIEW

Robert Peccia & Associates (RPA) is excited to offer an exceptional opportunity for a Structural Project Manager within our Structural Group. In this role, you will lead and manage diverse structural engineering projects, including commercial buildings, water/wastewater facilities, airport infrastructure, adaptive reuse, and residential developments. We are seeking a dynamic, forward-thinking leader who is passionate about delivering innovative, high-quality solutions and advancing the structural engineering field. 

WHAT TO EXPECT IN THIS POSITION

As a Project Manager, you will drive projects from concept through completion, leading multidisciplinary teams and delivering solutions that exceed client expectations. You will also play an integral role in business development, contributing to RPA’s continued growth and success. 

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Project Leadership: Lead the planning, design, and execution of structural engineering projects, ensuring technical accuracy, compliance, and quality. 
  • Mentorship and Team Development: Guide and mentor junior engineers, fostering technical growth and a collaborative team culture. 
  • Technical Expertise: Perform and review structural analysis, design calculations, and construction documents using tools such as Revit and FEM software. 
  • Client and Stakeholder Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, government agencies, and industry professionals. 
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and review detailed technical reports, specifications, and project documentation. 
  • Business Development: Support marketing initiatives and client development efforts, contributing to RPA’s leadership in the structural engineering industry. 

Qualifications

We seek a motivated, technically proficient professional with a passion for structural engineering and strong leadership skills. The ideal candidate will meet the following qualifications: 

  • Education and Certification: Master’s degree in Civil Engineering (preferred) with a focus on Structural Engineering, or equivalent. Professional Engineering (PE) license in Montana or ability to obtain within six months. 
  • Experience: 6+ years of progressive experience in structural engineering, including project management (preferred). Experience designing with steel, concrete, masonry, and wood. Strong understanding of seismic analysis, International Building Code, and reference standards. 
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Revit (preferred) and FEM software. Ability to develop technical specifications and project documentation. 
  • Personal Attributes: Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects effectively. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. A commitment to sustainable design practices and innovation. Positive attitude and dedication to RPA’s core values.
